Beyond Face Youth Company gives young people, from the ages of 11+, the opportunity to work with Professional Directors, Choreographers and Writers to create new work, perform in professional theatre venues and watch upcoming performances at local theatres in the city.

Past Projects

An Echo from Home

As part of a collaboration project with DoorStep Arts, the girls from Beyond Face Youth Company devised a short piece inspired by the text 'Zombieland'  by Hawa Golakai. This piece had its debut performance at the Agatha Christie Festival.

Shakespeare is the New Rap

Devised and performed by the Youth Company boys, Shakespeare is the New Rap is a short rehearsed reading exploring the parallels between Shakespeare and Rap Music. It has had its debut performance as part of TYPIFY Festival.

A Good Neighbour 

Invited by the Atlantic Project to respond to the theme of ‘a good neighbour’, Beyond Face has initiated a series of performances exploring the idea of ‘home’ and neighbourly relations in Plymouth. The performances of short monologues will take place at the B-bar on the Barbican. This event will also be accompanied by a discussion investigating some of the challenges of co-existence in Plymouth today and how important images can be in changing people’s perceptions both positively and negatively. Supported by Plymouth Culture and the Horizons Project.

Where's Abi?

Beyond Face and Titi Dawudu present a brand new musical Autumn 2017. What stands in our way to succeed and what happens when we don't feel the support around us anymore? Where's Abi? A story about bullying, career aspirations and friendships.


This production has been developed in partnership with Plymouth Music Zone
