Comfort tips for the Winter blues

It’s official, we’re starting our team meetings talking about how cold it is with blankets and hot water bottles firmly planted on our laps. Winter is here and she’s staying for a while. Some thrive in this season and others may find it a little bit more challenging. So we wanted to share some of the things that we find helps to bring us comfort during this period, we hope they help!

For me baking and cooking, especially dishes such as stews brings me comfort during the winter months, they’re pretty easy to make but feel filled with love. Plus it’s a great excuse to invite friends over to eat with you, which leads onto my next point. Spending time with your favourite people, whether it’s winter walks, cinema trips or doing some crafts at home helps me feel cosy.

ALIX

I really enjoy having a fluffy blanket and lighting some candles and drinking a hot chocolate as A chance to wind down and stay warm.

I’m really grateful to be surrounded by green spaces so going for walks this time of year I find is super good for the soul. I also love being by the sea if I can even though it’s cold there’s something super refreshing and energising boost to be by the waves.

Vicki

If you don’t have a fireplace, there are lots of cosy fireplace videos you can access online (some even with jazz music). This is the perfect background ambience for cosying up in the evening whether it be reading a good book, chatting with family and friends or just having some much needed time for yourself.

Corinne

I always put up some fairy lights and have them up long past the Christmas period until the days get longer. Having these extra lights and colour brings some light to the darkness.
