We are Here to Write

We are Here to Write is our writers’ group for global majority people. With a focus on writing for stage, each session is designed to develop your writing practice and demystify the process of being a writer.

The group is a supportive community, in place to gently keep you on track with your writing goals. The programme includes group writing sessions, guest workshops from members of the Beyond Face team and specialised talks on topics such as demystifying arts funding or working with a dramaturg.

There are also opportunities to share your writing with the group for feedback, working towards submitting material to be performed at the We are Here to Write scratch, an evening where group members’ work is brought to life by professional actors in a rehearsed reading at a South West-based theatre.
